Regional Chapters

Latest Updates from States

The Confederation of Road Safety Coalitions strengthens its mission through regional chapters across India. Each chapter addresses local challenges, builds community awareness, and partners with state authorities to promote safer roads.

Maharashtra Chapter

The Maharashtra Chapter has been at the forefront of spreading road safety awareness in urban and rural regions alike. Recently, it launched the “Safe Roads for Children” campaign, targeting schools in Mumbai and Pune. Through interactive workshops, street plays, and digital awareness sessions, more than 1,200 students were educated about pedestrian safety, the importance of helmets, and safe school-bus travel.

Volunteers also engaged with parents and teachers, encouraging a culture of responsibility both on and off the road. Beyond schools, the chapter has been actively working with municipal authorities to identify accident-prone zones and recommend infrastructural improvements.

Gujarat Chapter

The Gujarat Chapter has been instrumental in building strong community-police partnerships for road safety. In collaboration with the Ahmedabad Traffic Police, the chapter recently conducted a helmet awareness drive across major intersections. The initiative included live demonstrations on the importance of protective gear, free distribution of reflective stickers for two-wheelers, and road-user counseling for offenders.

Volunteers spoke directly with daily commuters, highlighting how small actions like wearing a helmet or using seat belts can make a life-saving difference. Additionally, the Gujarat team has been mapping high-risk highways and presenting data-driven solutions to the state transport department.

Delhi Chapter

The Delhi Chapter focuses heavily on policy advocacy and urban traffic management. It recently hosted a policy roundtable bringing together traffic experts, NGOs, policymakers, and citizen groups to discuss solutions for growing congestion and road-user safety. Topics such as better pedestrian infrastructure, smart traffic signals, and integration of public transport systems were discussed in depth.

In addition, the chapter continues to run awareness drives at metro stations, marketplaces, and schools, educating thousands of citizens about safe crossing practices and the dangers of distracted driving. By bridging the gap between authorities and road users, the Delhi Chapter is shaping a safer urban mobility framework.

Karnataka Chapter

The Karnataka Chapter has been active in driver safety and training initiatives, especially for commercial vehicle operators. In Bengaluru, the chapter recently conducted a comprehensive workshop for truck and bus drivers, covering crucial topics such as fatigue management, defensive driving, vehicle maintenance, and first-aid basics.

The training also included practical sessions where drivers were taught how to handle emergencies and avoid high-risk behaviors like overspeeding. Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many reporting a new sense of responsibility on the road. Beyond training, the chapter is working closely with local transport associations to ensure continuous education programs are in place.
